At Klaipedos Smelte empty container depot services are integrated into container terminal operations and rendered exclusively to shipping lines. Each empty container that is received from a truck, rail wagon or a ship passes through a detailed inspection in a dedicated depot area.

Based on actual condition, containers are segregated to grades and shown in regular reports submitted to shipping lines. Where needed, estimates of repairs are prepared in process of inspection for customer’s approval. Major repair works are available at the depot besides the minor, including but not limited to replacement of crossmembers, corner-posts, top and bottom rails, side panels and the flooring. Repair qualifications are DNVGL certified.
